My Story
Hi! We're Arthur and Toni Slaterbeck, and we're an Independent Scenty Consultant team! We've fallen in love with the products and decided to sell Scentsy not only to fund our addiction (ok, my addiction) but spread the Scentsy love with others! Since Arthur isn't much of a talker or typer, I'm going to tell you my story. I was first introduced to Scentsy by a friend and instantly fell in love with the washer whiffs. I hated to do laundry (Im still not found of the chore as it involves several flights of stairs!), but I looked forward to smelling the Black Raspberry Vanilla scent on my clothes and traveling through my home on laundry day.I also loved the way my friend and now Scentsy sponsor's house smelt everytime I visited. At home, I had used candles to scent a room, but hadnt really used them much after my children were born as they were very curious about them and the smoke the candles created also caused my asthma to flare occasionally. I tried melting the candles on a hotpad for that purpose but the smell just wasnt as strong. This is where the Scentsy wax bars came into play and was a perfect fit for my home! I sold Arthur on scents like Shimmer, Blueberry Cheesecake and Blue Raspberry Ice (June 2016 scent of the month-- my boys call it the “Bomb Pop”). He loves to check out the new scents just as much as I do now! Its brought the family as a whole together because we pick new scents for the house together! As a mother of 2 very active boys and two dogs, I was constantly concerned about a lit candle. Scentsy was a great solution to my fears. A wickless candle that was safe to the touch in both the warmer and the wax. Even if you tip it over, and we all have in my house, the wax simply dries and washes right out. I love that my 5 & 6 year olds can help me change out the wax and that if they get the wax on themselves when bumping into it (as boys tend to do) they wont get burnt! This wickless concept is simply a decorative ceramic warmers designed to melt scented wax with the heat of a light bulb instead of a traditional wick and flame. These wonderful warmers come in all varieties for every decorative or holiday desire. We decided to join the Scentsy family in June 2016. I was already sharing the concept with everyone who entered my home, so why not make money off of my passion! Today, Scentsy is a great additional income, one large enough that after my first month, I made almost enough to pay my car payment! Omg, it has been so long since I’ve updated this! The boys are now almost 11 & 12! They still enjoy helping and really love doing events and collecting the Scentsy buddies! We’ve continued to enjoy this adventure. We’ve been to Disneyland with Scentsy and plan to travel to Salt Lake City with Scentsy this summer! Wanna come along? There’s plenty of space left on my team for you!
How has it been over 8 years with Scentsy? We're still here as a family and a team selling and living the Scentsy life! This past summer we celebrated Scentsy's 25th anniversary in Orlando! We got to have an evening at Universal Studios and my mom and Opa tagged along. It was so much fun! Scentsy has had so much come and go, but we still love the basic premise, safe & delicious fragrance for your life. Our boys are now 14 & 15 and have practically grown up with Scentsy in their lives. They've benefitted so much from the travel and extra income over the years. I can't wait to see what else is in store for us! - Toni
